First Impressions

Me, Mike and Shawna
I look so tired...I had to wake up early because I had to work and then run home to change. I am just looking to enjoy myself with my friend Amanda and her co-workers. I am going to miss all the GNO in the next few months because of priority changes. But this particular night has been a whole lot of fun. Nope, not looking for eye candies, Just having fun!

Amanda, Mike and Shawna....
Pause for a pose, having fun dancing and just enjoying the whole night.

The Lounge
Relax.....see and be seen, dance with a drink or with a partner. My first time here and I wasn't disappointed. The company is great and the whole place spells laid-back, sexy sophistication.

Night out with Amanda and Shawna .....
I am working this whole weekend but a girl's gotta have fun too! After having dinner al fresco in Ciao Bella, we end up in this well-hidden, sexy ambiance of a place.
Check out this link and see for yourself!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Summer birthdays are fun and it's extra delightful when there's two or more. Rita and Arlene were both celebrating their August birthday in style this year. We have been trying to paint the town red but we couldn't find the time nor the reason to really do it. So finally here it comes, we decided to do it. Here we are with our post dinner pose, Rita should have been here too but she took the picture instead.
Maya and I paused for a pose taken during our dance escapade that same night.
My friend Ivy and I inside the chauffered ride (were lucky enough to have Rita's husband drive us around town.)
With Arlene(birthday girl # 1) sipping our margaritas while dancing with the girls...
With Rita (birthday girl # 2) ;we had so much fun we don't want to end the night. But alas, our tired well-heeled feet has had enough ....
With my friend Bless, soak in the ambiance of the city. Some of us had taken off our shoes while walking towards the parking lot. Stilletos are great and makes you feel sexy but after 4 hours of dancing, our feet turned to jelly.
We did not get to Rita's house until 230 in the morning Saturday. Rita cooked some early breakfast of garlic fried rice, eggs, sausage and coffee. We ate and then the girls opened up their presents which they were oohing and aahing because they like them. Myself did not get home till 330 AM and I just realized then that I was awake from 4 am Friday(because I had to work) until 330 am Saturday. I crawl in bed tired and was ready to sleep in till noon but it's not to be. I was wide awake by 6 am, I don't know why but I was just awake. Surprisingly, after the dirty martini, the b-52 and the margarita; I did not feel any hang-over, after effect or any headache. Thank God for that but now I felt like an alcoholic, oh mercy!

The Quest for What?

Well-heeled Mobile

I can't remember the name of the magazine that I took this picture from but it struck a chord in me.This is in Marikina, Philippines and for anyone who heard about the Philippines you can't help but know about the infamous first lady who's became famous because of her shoe collection. Well, according to the article accompanying this picture, the reason she's got lots of shoes is because she was picked as the model for the company's product line of shoes seeing that she's a globe trotter. She's been chosen to advertise the shoes to propective clients abroad. Sadly, the demise of this political family during the fall of martial law in the Philippines also triggers the downfall of the shoe company. So now, they build this shoe mobile as an advertisement to tourists and to show that Marikina shoes are still very competitive in quality, durability and prices as of the rest of the world. Undoubtly, for someone foreign I am sure that there's more to see in Marikina other than its famous shoes.

King Nothing

Wish I may
Wish I might
Have this I wish tonight
Are you satisfied?
Dig for gold
Dig for fame
You dig to make your name
Are you pacified?

All the wants you waste
All the things you've chased

Then it all crashes down
And you break your crown
And you point your finger
But there's no one around

Just want one thing
Just to play the king
But the castle's crumbled
And you're left with just a name

Where's your crown, King Nothing?
Where's your crown?

Hot and cold
Bought and Sold
A heart as hard as gold
Yeah! Are you satisfied?

Wish I might
Wish I may
You wish your life away
Are you pacified?

All the wants you waste
All the things you chased

Then it all crashes down
And you break your crown
And you point your finger
But there's no one around

Just want one thing
Just to play the king
But the castle's crumbled
And you're left with just a name

Where's your crown, King Nothing?
Where's your crown?

Huh!

(Spoken)
I wish I may
I wish I might
Have this wish I wish tonight
I want that star
I want it now
I want it all and I don't care how

Careful what you wish
Careful what you say
Careful what you wish
You may regret it
Careful what you wish
You just might get it

Then it all crashes down
And you break your crown
And you point your finger
But there's no one around

Just want one thing
Just to play the king
But the castle's crumbled
And you're left with just a name

Where's your crown, King Nothing?
Nothing

No you're just nothing
Where's your crown, King Nothing?
No you're just nothing
Nothing

Off to never never land

Beach Day

So glad that the weather cooperated with my beach day plans this weekend. The whole week has been long and busy at work I couldn't wait for Saturday. I was able to have a sigh of relief when Friday finally ended and I was able to wrap up some deadlines for the week.
My schedule at home has been so crazy lately that instead of sleeping in on a Saturday, I woke up instead @ 4 am. So what a girl gotta do? I wasn't going to cook food to bring to the beach but seeing that I woke so early , might as well use the time to prep and cook some noodle stir fry. It reminds me of waaaaaay back home in the Philippines when my family used to prepare for a beach day. We had all kinds of food and drinks (of course, here in the US, there's really no alcoholic beverage allowed in public beaches). Okay, I am not really a great cook but I thought I did a good job with my noodles, I just hoped that the friends would like it.^_^
Well, this turned out be a better day after all the rain and clouds all week. There were clouds Saturday but the sun still came out of it and shine the beach with considerable heat. Salisbury Beach has been known to be a great summer destination in Massachusetts. It had some seedy reputation(years ago) but people still come and enjoy the beach atmosphere. Summer is so short here that we take what we can and enjoy the season before the cold weather sets in. I am just so glad too that a few of my girlfriends, Rita, Ivy and Arlene with their hubbies were able to make it and join me. The kids had a lot of fun and the big kids as well. Although, Tom and Mario opted out from going in the water. They were just chillin'---literally and figuratively.^_^It was such fun to have them all and we had some really great killer fried doughs. It's so huge , I've never seen such thing.
The water here is almost all the time cold to swim in because it's the Atlantic Ocean. But this particular day the water seemed warm enough to catch some waves. We sequestered the kid's boogie boards from time to time and ride the surfs. I had so much fun that I am feeling it right now. I have sore muscles that I did not know I have. It's quite amazing that in my years of living here, this is truly the first time that I really enjoyed the ocean waters. My Bob was very surprised as well and couldn't believe I spent most of the whole day in the water. He was quite amused with my tan lines when I took off my swimsuit. Come to think of it, I am tanned from birth already, now I've become dark brown. I love it!

My Dad,My Morgan Freeman

Maybe I am just missing my Dad so much but I always see him in Morgan Freeman. I think they have facial similarities that I only see; some people can't anyway. I love his movies and even some of his actions and mannerisms have a little bit of similarities with my Dad. I really feel so sad that he's involved in an accident recently, thank God he seemed to be alright according to reports. My Dad is a little bit older than him but they are both in the 70's. Hearing what happened to him makes me think of my Dad more. I don't really talk to him when I call home because he's always somewhere out keeping himself busy. My husband thinks that my Dad really aged well but I can't helped but worry too because he always projects to the world his very best. We'll, I wish the very best for Morgan Freeman and I think I am going to call home and see how my Dad is doing..^_^

Where am I?

Mahogany Hammock Trail
The Everglades, Florida

Coming here got me confused or rather missed my homeland, the Philippines. These trees grows abundantly there and though they don't shoot up as tall as in this picture they serves it's purpose well. We are very resourceful when it comes to anything in our environment. We used to make mats, fans, bags/totes, even roofs for our huts, and many more other things that are needed in living our simple life. We used to decorate these on our stages during plays and graduations along with ferns and tropical flowering plants with the staple white curtains that resembles a bed sheet. Ha! life was simple and we had simple needs and wants. Then we grew up and along the way we feel that there's a void in our simple life. How I missed that moment of my life but it's all in the past now. I suppose I can visit it time and time again especially when places and faces reminds me of what was...

Squid Sisig

Above is my dressed up squid sisig. Hubby was the one who picked this up from the pinoy store a few weeks ago. I thought it was brave of him but then again he doesn't really know what exactly he's in for. I don't know how to cooked sisig but this was in a can so I thought it can't be that bad. I asked a dear friend (Thanks, Ivy!) how to prepare it so we can have a taste. This is dinner/breakfast--- we have crazy schedule---and hubby thinks it is good. We ate it with rice plus I sneak a slice of bread with it too.(There goes my weight watcher, oh well....) So there's still some left-over, not much but enough for another meal.Hmmm.....,that'll be another breakfast or dinner....^_^
