Happily Ever After.....Is it a Myth?

"Today I begin to understand what love must be, if it exists. When we are parted, we each feel the lack of the other half of ourselves. We are incomplete like a book in two volumes of which the first has been lost. That is what I imagine love to be: incompleteness in absence."
---Goncourt

Fourteen years ago she vowed not to enter matrimony unless she's in love and she's loved back. She had the perfect example of that give and take relationship through her parents marriage. She thinks that she deserve a knight in shining armor that will swept her off and ride into the sunset on a white horse. She's not going for anything less, it's either marry for love or contentment in spinsterhood. It's a scary thought because these things are too much for such a young and naive mind. "Happily ever after " only happens in fairy tales, she knows, but this did not stop her from wishing and dreaming. With a stroke of luck, her dream or wish did came true but she was scared witless when it happened. What is it going to be when she's with him? He came from very far, faraway kingdom. He does say that he love her and that he'll take care of her. He even promise his future mother-in-law that he'll take care of the daughter and treat her like the queen. But does he mean it? What if he changes? What if these are just empty promises? All these uncertainty and doubts were running through her head even after their quiet and simple wedding. It's really just for naught, all these questions in her head. Her mother told her there's going to be plenty of changes and she has to be brave. Her mother's words put her mind at ease and they went to the faraway kingdom after the wedding. Today is the exact day when they exchanged vows fourteen years ago. It's a great 13 years,.....now, is the beginning of their 14th year together and though it hasn't been always rosy they believed that they've come to love each other even stronger after going through life's many obstacles and challenges. They've learn from each other, they learn from their mistakes, they both grow closer in their relationship and she believe that happily ever after might not be just a myth after all.
